Pros and cons of FotometerPro app for iPhone and iPad
FotometerPro app good for
But it dont work with flashes. Only ambient light or continuous studio illumination. Very useful for analog photography and lomos, great for pin-hole. But it is a very nice app if you want to learn to use the light.
update wishes:
store several measurements
average value
"freeze" current value
"freeze" current picture
maximize viewfinder
Very good metering.
Please increase ISO sensibility to 12800.
This app works well on iPhone 4. Although it could load a bit faster but the meter is accurate.
I find this app easy to use. As it is similar to the type of light meter I used back in the 70s its a lot cheaper than one for a camera store costing 350.00. I like the timer. Though I havent used it yet. Ill check the meter against my Nixon D90 settings and see hoe they compare.
Love the retro look of the interface, which becomes very intuitive to use. I only wish it had a "hold" function to freeze the readings (such as when using in incidence mode and then returning to the camera). Some users reported the app crashing, but I have had no issues (it may be primarily people using it on an iPod touch, which I dont believe has a camera as sensitive as an iPhone 4/5)
Some bad moments
seems to finally work with ios 4.3.4
incident meter is only for iphone 4 or ipad 2 (needs the front cam)
The meter appears on the left corner on the bottom of the screen and not as shown in the App galerie.
The help screen appears on the left upper corner and shows only a small part of help text in giant letters.
Not usable.
Using this on 3GS and it either doesnt load up or it crashes. Looking forward to the fix since this app looks functional on first blush.
Purchased this for my ipad. Will only show as 1/4 screen size. I can only see 1/4 of the instructions page (or less) at a time. The image is hard to read and controls difficult to discern. No idea how well it actually works because I cant see it well enough to actually use it! I want my money back! Beware!
Controls and responsiveness all good on iP4/IOS5. Love the interface and graphics! However the viewfinder in the latest update (1.2) is still way too unclear (and small) to be of much use. This makes it very difficult to accurately aim the meter to obtain a precise reading.
☀☁This app emulates an antique light meter complete with a tiny preview glass in the upper left corner. The app features both an incident and reflective mode, which are explained in the included manual.
